Specialist Footwear

Specialist footwear is intended to provide a number of functions including:

• Accommodation of foot shape
• Protection for 'At Risk' feet
• Correction for unstable feet and ankles.

Specialist footwear falls into 3 main categories

1. Stock Shoes and Boots:
   These are specified and provided ready made from a range of specialist manufacturers.
2. Modular Shoes and Boots:
   This is a type of stock footwear which is specified to have one or more adaptions to the design and often requires a fitting stage.
3. Fully bespoke:
   This type of footwear is made from a custom last (the model for the shape) and are unique to the individual who was measured for the shoes. This footwear must have a fitting before final delivery and may be made to a very complex design.
