In addition to the daily Cappagh Prosthetic and Orthotic clinic, IDS holds a twice-monthly satellite Prosthetic and Orthotic clinic in Croom Hospital. All other satellite clinics are primarily Orthotic although a small number of amputees attend some of these venues if travelling is a major difficulty. Some of the clinics attended by IDS staff are general in nature but others are more specialised. The CRC clinic is almost completely a Paediatric clinic and the NW Region clinics have a high proportion of children as clients.
Over 300 satellite clinics were held in 2009, this is in addition to our daily Cappagh clinic. 10,258 appointments were attended, 5,640 at Cappagh and 4,618 at satellites.
